What about the game itself?

Half Life 2 is critically acclaimed and anyone who has an interest in video games should have heard about it. It was released as a standalone game and also as part of 'The Orange Box', a collection of 5 games from Valve. The story is set roughly 20 years after the original Half Life and is well written for those who love a good narrative. The gameplay is impeccable, with sharp controls and fluid movement. Adding to this are strong visuals and a stellar soundtrack.

The game is also noted as being the first game that required Steam online activation to run, well before it was the distribution platform we know today.

Another piece of Half Life 2's history is that it was leaked before its release which resulted in a 2 year probation for the offender. History aside, its an absolute classic that you should play.
